66 Hammersmith is a busy commercially let office building. The original building dating back to the sixties where the high quality and opulent reception was clad in Carrara marble.
Our task was to create a reception that both fitted dimensionally but also visually and was in keeping and sympathetic with the reception. The bespoke reception desk had to accommodate two staff members including security controls. The centre portion enables easy access for wheel chair users whilst the high side units house the monitors and controls and allow a sign in book to be operated.
The reception is clad in a very dark brown laminate picking out a colour found in the marble. The counters are 20 mm float glass raised alloy support with integral mood lighting. The silver plinth visually “lifted” the reception conveniently creating an easy clean band.
Two Herman Miller Mirra chairs were supplied for the staff as they are ideal for multi users. They have simple controls and can be instantly altered to accommodate a petit receptionist to a hulking security guard.
